Circle the globe without leaving the table

Putting together a tasty dinner with a global flair is easier than you think.

You can’t go wrong with a 7 course, 7 continent dinner. Just hit each continent at some point during the meal, and by the time dessert is served, you will have traveled around the world. So, prepare for takeoff!

  • Appetizer (Europe) — Publix Bakery Braided Brioche Loaf. This rich, buttery, sweet French bread will have you saying “oui!”
  • Soup (North America) — Publix Deli New England Clam Chowder. This creamy chowder is made with briny clams, chunks of salt pork, sweet onions, potatoes and milk. Historians believe the New England style of chowder was introduced to the region by French, Nova Scotian or British settlers and became a common dish in the area by the 1700s.
  • Salad (Asia) — Publix Deli Tabbouleh Salad. Originally from the mountains between Syria and Lebanon, this traditional salad is prepared fresh in our deli and contains bulgur, tomatoes, onions, parsley and mint.

  • Entree (South America) — Fresh Corvina. Similar to snapper, this white firm fish has a mild, sweet taste. Although it is considered a versatile fish, it is popularly used for ceviche.
  • Dessert (Australia) — Publix Bakery Macadamia Bites. Since macadamia nuts are an Australian original, add this delectable gourmet offering baked fresh daily with crunchy macadamia nuts, pecans and bold molasses to your plate.
  • Drinks (Antarctica) — Here’s the easy part to round out your journey: Throw ice in your favorite drink and you’ve hit Antarctica for the finish!

Asia is the largest continent. It has the biggest land area and the world’s largest population at 4.6 billion.

Australia is a country that is part of a continent also called Australia, all of which is part of a region known as Oceania.

Africa is the second-largest and second-most-populous continent after Asia. There are 54 countries on the African continent.

North America is located entirely in the Northern and Western hemispheres. There are 23 countries on the North American continent, which includes Central America. The island of Greenland, which is the world’s largest island, belongs to Denmark but is located in North America.

Europe is considered to be the wealthiest continent. It also houses the two smallest countries in the world ­–– Vatican City and Monaco.

South America is a continent of many natural superlatives like the longest mountain range (the Andes), the highest waterfalls (Angel Falls in Venezuela) and the driest place on earth (Atacama Desert in Chile).

Antarctica is the least populated continent. There are only research stations for scientists and no permanent settlements. Ninety percent of the planet’s ice is located on this continent, which also makes up 60% – 70% of the world’s fresh water supply.
