Spin the dreidel: It’s time for Chanukah!

The Jewish holiday of Chanukah is a time for celebration.

This year, Chanukah will be observed from Dec. 25 to Jan. 2. The holiday is celebrated with a nightly menorah lighting and special prayers. Another significant part of Chanukah is the food shared among family and friends.

Shoppers can find kosher products in our stores to help them prepare the perfect meals. These products include potato pancakes, vegetarian soup, chocolate coins, and Chanukah essentials like menorah candles and dreidels.

Manager of Ethnic Business Development David Pagan works closely with a team of category managers to support stores during Chanukah and other observances throughout the year.

“The emerging business team works with corporate purchasing and divisional leadership, providing information and guidance to store managers on what the holiday is, the products associated with it and how these items should be merchandised in stores,” David explained.

“The goal is to always get it right by making sure what’s on display correlates with the holiday we’re supporting. Everyone may not celebrate the same holidays, but part of providing premier service is ensuring every customer feels included.”

David and his local customization team also collaborate with marketing to create in-store signage and other initiatives that help promote the variety of cultural products we have in our stores.
