Earlier this year, options for purchasing slip-resistant footwear expanded to include any shoes marked slip resistant. Now, several shoe providers have partnered with Publix to offer discounts to our associates.

Six companies currently offer Publix associates discounts for purchasing shoes. The discounts and purchasing methods vary by company, and some vendors require associate identification like store or personnel number.

Although most vendors require associates to purchase shoes online using a Publix-specific website to receive the discount, Red Wing and Payless Shoe Source offer in-store purchasing. Associates can either print the coupon found on www.publix.org > Apparel and Merchandise > Safety Shoes  display it on their smartphone at checkout. Payless also provides associates with the option of ordering shoes by phone.

“We are pleased to provide cost-saving options for associates to purchase shoes that are designed to help them work safely. I hope all associates take advantage of this opportunity to save money,” said Manager of Retail Safety and OSHA Compliance Rob Peter. “We will continue to look for additional companies willing to offer similar discounts.”

Many participating companies not only allow associates to purchase slip-resistant shoes for work, but also for personal use like casual, athletic and even dress shoes. And, associates aren’t limited to using this discount only for themselves; they can use it to purchase shoes for anyone. Although associates have the ability to purchase any shoes offered by these vendors, at work they are still required to adhere to the Publix Uniform Dress Code. In most stores, the dress code poster can be located in the break room.
