Rain or shine — Elida knows the drill

Elida

Although we’re each responsible for our own safety, we’re also responsible for helping keep our co-workers and customers safe, too. The PreventionPlus Challenge Coin program allows us to spotlight associates who are working hard to keep everyone safe.

Dangerous situations can happen in an instant, but by keeping safety top of mind, we can help prevent injuries and keep our stores running smooth. Front Service Clerk Elida (Blanca) Campos Ramirez, #555, Sarasota, Florida, recently earned a PreventionPlus Challenge Coin for her dedication to associate and customer safety.

Elida is very passionate about ensuring the spill response stations stay fully stocked throughout the day. She is the first person to react to inclement weather by putting down caution cones in the foyer and making sure rugs are in place to reduce the amount of rainwater that enters the store. Elida also helps train new associates on how to work safely because of her dedication to following best practices.

“Elida fosters a culture of safety in the customer service department and around the store. She is a role model for other associates and our go-to person for training new associates who join our Publix family,” said Store Manager Tony Ganster. “She shows them that everyone has a personal responsibility to keep both our customers and associates safe at our store. We are very lucky to have her on our team and proud that she won this award.”

Congratulations, Elida, for your dedication and achievement!
